Help & FAQ

WE GET QUESTIONS.

The most common ones, answered. If yours isn't here, write us at support@loadq.ca.

Passenger questions.

Is LoadQ really free?
Yes — currently free during our soft launch in Ontario and Québec. Passengers pay only the driver, only for the ride. We'll be transparent about any future pricing.
Do I need to book ahead?
No. Reserve a seat with a tap, or just show up at a loading car. The board tells you in real time how full each car is.
How do you verify drivers?
Government ID, driver's licence, vehicle registration, and insurance — verified by a real person before any driver can list a route.
How do I sign in?
Email. We send a one-time code — no passwords. Optional phone number so drivers can coordinate pickup. See our privacy policy.
Is the app bilingual?
Yes. LoadQ runs in English and French out of the box. Built for Canada.
What if no car fills?
You haven't paid anything, so you haven't lost anything. Walk to the next loading car, or check the board again later.

Driver questions.

How much commission does LoadQ take?
Currently 0% during beta. After beta, a small flat per-trip fee (under 10%) — no hidden cuts on tips, on fares, on anything.
When do I get paid?
Daily Interac e-Transfer. Trips completed today land in your bank the next morning.
Can I set my own price?
Yes. You set per-seat price and your departure window. Passengers see both before they reserve.
What documents do I need?
Government ID, driver's licence (full class, not learner), vehicle registration, valid commercial auto insurance, and a vehicle inspection certificate less than 12 months old.
Can I drive part-time?
Yes. Most LoadQ drivers list routes around their existing schedule. No quotas, no minimum hours.
